چکیده

Vibrio sp. has caused several foodborne outbreaks of gastroenteritis around the world. Given mounting evidence that poses a significant public health threat, and initiating effective treatment for infection requires rapid identification causative organism, there is need reliable, cost-effective point care diagnostic testing. Conventional detection techniques are current gold standard in detecting sp., typically resource-intensive, laborious, time-consuming. These limitations greatly hinder their efficiency under-developed countries, which usually regions most affected by infections. Thus, development rapid, reliable methods crucial to overcome conventional methods. This review aims summarize give insights into array focuses on different detect including polymerase chain reactions, loop-mediated isothermal amplification, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, microarrays, lateral flow immunoassays, aptasensors, spot dye-based sensors CRISPR/Cas-PCR systems. The were found have high specificity sensitivity various species within genus Vibrio. However, each method its own advantages limitations, thus continuous effort needed improve what currently available develop with sensitivity, specificity, affordability minimal obtain consistent accurate diagnoses.

Rapid molecular techniques for detection of foodborne Bacillus cereus pathogen

Background and Objective: Bacillus cereus is responsible for several outbreaks of foodborne diseases. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to replace routine culture testing, by employing PCR directly from food to detect the bacteria and its enterotoxins. Methods: In the present study, a total of 75 Kibda sandwiches, Sausage sandwiches, Luncheon chicken, Luncheon meat and shawarma sandwiche...

Rapid Detection of Vibrio Cholera by a Coagglutination Complex using Staphylococcus aureus Including Protein A

Introduction: Vibrio cholera is a gram-negative bacterium that causes cholera which is an acute diarrheal illness. Cholera outbreak mostly happens in hot seasons when the bacteria reproduce rapidly in water contaminated with feces. Severe diarrhea and mortality have been the prevalent symptoms of cholera which affect the hygienic status and economic features of humans during centuries. There is...

Laboratory diagnostic techniques for Entamoeba species.

The genus Entamoeba contains many species, six of which (Entamoeba histolytica, Entamoeba dispar, Entamoeba moshkovskii, Entamoeba polecki, Entamoeba coli, and Entamoeba hartmanni) reside in the human intestinal lumen. Entamoeba histolytica is the causative agent of amebiasis and is considered a leading parasitic cause of death worldwide in humans. Although recent studies highlight the recovery...

A novel kit for rapid detection of Vibrio cholerae O1.

We report on the development and testing of a novel, rapid, colorimetric immunodiagnostic kit, Cholera SMART, for direct detection of the presence of Vibrio cholerae O1 in clinical specimens. Unlike conventional culture methods requiring several days to complete, the Cholera SMART kit can be used directly in the field by untrained or minimally skilled personnel to detect V. cholerae O1 in less ...
